Coach EJ Jones

CEO | Director of Athletic Performance

Coach EJ Jones is a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified trainer and NFL/NBA Pro Scout liason, with a B.S. in kinesiology and exercise science from Illinois State University. EJ attended University of Minnesota for two years before transferring to ISU, where he graduated as one of the top 40 defensive backs in the country, holding one of the top all-time interception records at ISU.  He garnered enough attention there to qualify for the NFL Combine under the representation of his agent Andrew "Buddy" Baker, but unfortunately, he suffered a torn hip labrum that dashed his NFL hopes. The devastation of this "wear and tear” injury lead him to pursue further education in sports medicine to train others in the safe and proper techniques of strength, conditioning, and performance, hoping to prevent this from happening to other up-and-coming athletes.  A graduate of Edwardsville High School, he was a Division 1 recruit in baseball, basketball, and football.  He was honored as a Red Zone Old Spice All American, first team all-state on all major Illinois publications (Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and Champaign News Gazette and Illinois Coaches Association).

Cameron James

NSCA Certified Personal Trainer | B.S. in Exercise Science | CPR/AED

Coach James attended Edwardsville High School where he was a phenomenal two-sport athlete in Football and Track. He continued his playing career at McKendree University where in 2015 he finished 5th at NCAA Indoor Nationals in the 60 meter dash and became McKendree's first Division II All-American. Coach James was also dominant on the football field being and 4x All-Conference player in 4 years and being McKendree's career record holder in receiving yards and touchdowns, all-purpose yards. He graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science and with a strong athletic background, he tends to teach athletes the techniques of speed training and help them become more knowledgeable of what it takes to become faster and to become a more well-rounded athlete.

Tim Wahlquist

NASM Certified Personal Trainer | Professional Chef 12+ Years | Culinary Arts Degree

After over 12+ years of experience in the food/restaurant industry, Tim took it upon himself to become certified as a personal trainer and apply his nutritional knowledge to helping clients reach their goals not only through training but through proper diet. He has worked at many restaurants refining his skill and developed the “Fit Families” program at NXT Level. Along with nutrition, his passions for endurance sports including running and cycling also reflect in his training philosophy.
